This 131 acre property is an existing permitted gravel bank on Shermantown Road in North Kingstown. An engineer's report estimated that there are approximately 220,000 cubic yards of gravel remaining in the ridge that was being mined, with an undetermined amount in the unexplored areas of the property. The property consists of three lots, Map 8, Lots 5 & 6, and Map 28, Lot 6. The wetlands shown on the concept plans are based on aerial photos and other maps. Water, gas, and electric utilities are available. The topography is flat in the disturbed areas, and mostly gently sloped in the wooded sections. Possible uses included continued mining operations, a campground, or a residential development. A 9 lot single family subdivision, a 13 unit condominium project, or a comprehensive permit development could be possible.
